12 Dimensions Critical Reflection

Based on Saeed CMI Report I collect 4 dimensions, Communication, Expression, Status and Decision Making.

Part 1:

A communication dimension means how the person communicates with others. This dimension has two polarities, direct and indirect communication. The direct communication mean that the person communicates or speaks to other person directly like Ahmed says to Ali: bring me coffee. In the other hand, indirect polarities mean that the person communicates with others indirectly like Ahmed says to Ali: I am so thirsty, can you please get me a cup of coffee I will be so thankful.

Second dimension is Expression and its polarities are Reveal and conceal. Reveal mean the person show his feeling to others while conceal is that the person keeping his feeling or his expression without showing it to others.

Third dimension is Status which has two polarities Ascribed and Achieved. Ascribed mean the person get what he want in easy way for example Ahmed get his father job without any hard work. Achieved mean that the person get what he want by hard work for example Ali become a manager because ho studied hard and work hard.

Last dimension is Decision Making which means the way of taking a decision on something. First polarity is Rules which mean the person taking a decision based on rules (follow the rules). Second polarity means that the person taking a decision based on a Relationship for example Ahmed break the rules and let Salem do something only because they are brothers.

Part 2:

The report said that Saeed communication is indirectly which is a problem in my opinion because he must make sure that he must make the people understand what he say or what he want if he wants to communicate indirectly.

Secondly, Saeed concealing his expression which is weakness because he will conceal everything he knows whether it’s good or bad and of course he must not reveal his personal things. Also, Saeed is achieved person he likes to work hard. In my opinion he must improve his work more.

Last thing which is a problem in Saeed and that is he likes to make a decision in a Relationship way. The problem is that he will not take a decision based on rules and that is it.

Part 3
In my opinion about Saeed, he has good and bad things and suggests he must communicate with others directly but if he wants to communicate indirectly he must make sure that the other person understands what he want. Also he should not always conceal his expression because that will affects him in his work while he must follow the rules if he wants to make any decisions.

Finally I would like to say that Saeed has an advantage which is he likes to work hard and I suggests he must improve that.

Exercise #1

  •  Is bullfighting cultural acceptable? OR should we as traveler's to help make changes in traditions??

In my opinion, bullfighting is so unacceptable because of many reasons. First thing is that bullfighting will made many people injured and it may cause death for a lot of people.
Secondly, we know that it is so fun to see it or doing it but still this animal feel and it is not good thing to kill an animal only for fun!!
Finally, as a traveler's we cannot change it because it’s a tradition thing but we can advise people to avoid it.
